December 14th 1941; Captain "Wild Bill" Kelso, United States Army Air Corps - had been chasing a Jap squadron for a day and a half, but lost 'em somewhere over Fresno. Forced down by enemy fire over Hollywood, Capt Kelso was last seen off the Santa Monica Coast by two ground observer corps volunteers who watched Capt Kelso attempting to board a Japanese submarine...shouting "Turn this tub around! You're takin' me to Tokyo!"
