This classic aviator design uses a precision Swiss made chronograph with a Super Luminova dial protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.  The case back displays original airframe material from North American B-25 Mitchell SN#44-30734.  This design is limited to 1945 units in honor of the year of this aircraft's production.  The rugged B-25 Mitchell flew for the Allied air forces in every theater of WWII and beyond.  It gained fame as the bomber used in the epic April 1942 "Doolittle Raid" to bomb Tokyo in response to the Pearl Harbor attack.    This aircraft survives and remains in flying condition to this day.  Thanks to the dedication and support of the Delaware Aviation Museum, this B-25 flying under the name "Panchito", can still be seen gracing the skies at airshows around the country.

B-3 Sheepskin Jacket (Long)

Regular price $1,480.00

Previously provided with outerwear which kept very little body heat, the sheepskin B-3 bomber jackets were introduced in WWII to ensure that crewman were kept warm while flying at high altitudes in unpressurized cabins. Please note that the shearling is tanned to “antique” as you wear it, giving “highs and lows” in the color so it looks as if you had this jacket since WWII. This will not affect the durability of this product.

DECAL 4 INCHES

B-52 Decal - Peace Through Superior Firepower Decal- After countless years of service, and after earning the nickname of BUFF (Big Ugly Fat Fellow) there were concerns about the lifespan of the fleet. Several projects beyond the B-52, the Convair B-58 Hustler and North American XB-70 Valkyrie, had either been aborted or proved disappointing in light of changing requirements, which left the older B-52 as the main bomber as opposed to the planned successive aircraft models. On 19 February 1965, General Curtis E. LeMay testified to Congress that the lack of a followup bomber project to the B-52 raised the danger that, "The B-52 is going to fall apart on us before we can get a replacement for it."

All these years later, the B-52 is alive and very well, and will remain in service long after the B-2 and B-1 bombers have retired to the boneyards, once again proving to be ageless in her reign, the Buff is still smoking its 8 engines, and flexing her massive wings around the world!

The B-52 Decal - Peace Through Superior Firepower B-52 Sticker from the world's finest collection of historically accurate, all-weather, waterproof, military aviation decals and civil aviation decals, squadron decals, airplane stickers and military aircraft markings. Presenting the one and only Sierra Hotel Aeronautics Aviation Decal Collection.

The YB-52, the second XB-52 modified with additional operational equipment, first flew on 15 April 1952 with "Tex" Johnston as pilot. A two-hour, 21-minute proving flight from Boeing Field, King County, near Seattle, Washington to Larson AFB was undertaken with Boeing test pilot Alvin M. Johnston and Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Guy M. Townsend. The XB-52 followed on 2 October 1952. The thorough development, including 670 days in the wind tunnel and 130 days of aerodynamic and aeroelastic testing, paid off with smooth flight testing. Encouraged, the Air Force increased an initial order to 282 Boeing B-52s.

DECAL 3 3/4 INCHES HIGH

December, 23rd, 1974; The Rockwell B-1 Lancer four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, heavy strategic bomber used by the United States Air Force (USAF) first took flight.
It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic bomber with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress.
It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetrator with long range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. lovingly called the "Bone" ("B-One") by her crews.
The B-1R variant was called the...well, you guessed it...the BONER!

USAF Adversary Bandit F-5

Bandit Crew Cap - 6 Panel, high quality 100% cotton - Sandwich Brim - Velcro Adjustor - Fully embroidered with historically accurate aircraft markings and aircraft fuselage color - Limited Production - Designed by Sierra Hotel Aeronautics.

An Aggressor or adversary squadron (in the US Navy and USMC) is a squadron trained to act as an opposing force in military war games. Aggressor squadrons use enemy tactics, techniques, and procedures to give a realistic simulation of air combat (as opposed to training against one's own forces). Since it is impractical to use actual enemy aircraft and equipment, surrogate aircraft to emulate potential adversaries. The first formal use of dissimilar aircraft for training was in 1968 by the Navy Fighter Weapon Training School (better known as "TOPGUN")

US aggressor squadrons fly small and low-wing loaded fighters that are used to represent those of the potential adversaries. Originally A-4's in the USN and F-5s (US Navy, USMC, and USAF) were flown along with T-38 Talons that were immediately available and served as placeholders until new F-5E/F Tiger II aircraft were introduced. The Navy and Marine Corps briefly operated 2 squadrons of F-21 Kfir Adversaries at NAS Oceana (VF-43) and MCAS Yuma (VMFT-41). These were eventually supplemented by early-model F/A-18s (US Navy) and specially built F-16Ns (for the US Navy) and F-16A models (for the Air Force). At the end of 2005, the USAF started using the larger and faster F-15 Eagle as an aggressor aircraft alongside the F-16 at Nellis AFB. However, the USAF began phasing out its F-15 aggressors towards the end of 2014, with the deactivation of the 65th Aggressor Squadron, the F-16C is once again the only dedicated aggressor type at Nellis AFB.

Drawing its inspiration from the famed Bad Guy MiG-28s from the movie Top Gun, USN Fighter Squadron Composite VFC-13 (radio callsign “Bogey”) which provides adversary training for US Navy air wings at NAS Fallon decided to paint some F-5 Tigers all-black just like the bandits Maverick and Goose took down.

The USN operates three reserve adversary squadrons  VFC-111, VFC-12, and VFC-13 and an additional USMC adversary squadron VMFA-401 operating F-5N and F/A-18s whose purpose is to provide Adversary support for fleet replacement squadrons, Carrier Air Wings, SFARP Strike Fighter Advanced Readiness Programs and Navy Special Warfare Training while also providing dissimilar air combat training with adversary threat presentation for Top Gun classes at NAS Fallon.

Battleworn A-2 Jacket Z21M028

Our new pre-aged horsehide A-2 jacket for sale, we started with the classic style we use for our WWII government issue type A-2 horsehide flight jacket in dark brown mahogany. Knowing that thousands of these jackets were manufactured till 1943 and some are still in use, we wanted to recreate what one of these jackets might look like after 80 years of wear and tear. This worn A-2 leather jacket is crafted from full grain horsehide, with many of the original traits of a jacket issued back then, but fully wearable. We put these jackets through a very time consuming, hand aging process so not one of the jackets looks exactly like another. Enjoy this aged to perfection A-2 which will set you apart from others wearing a brand new version. This worn leather jacket style is not meant for all customers, but stand out and be one of the first to purchase this completely unique horsehide flight jacket for sale.

  • Crafted from our signature full-grain, horsehide leather
  • Russet cotton poplin lining
  • 1 Interior pocket
  • Two front-flap snap exterior pockets
  • Knit cuffs and waistband
  • Button down Snaps on collar with hook and eye closure at throat latch
  • Epaulets
  • Exterior Windflap
  • Proudly Made in the USA

This jacket comes pre-distressed, so pilling on the knit and markings on the leather are part of our custom distressing process.

The Type A-2 flying jacket was officially standardized by the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1927, as the successor to the Type A-1 flying jacket. The military specification number for Type A-2 is 94-3040, Drawing Number 31-1415, but spec. labels found in the jackets themselves show this to be 30-1415.

The A-2 pilots jacket was traditionally awarded to an Army Air Forces officer upon completion of basic flight training, and always before graduating to advanced training. The informal standard system of distribution was airmen lining up in front of boxes containing jackets of various sizes and handed out by the base Quartermaster.

The flight jacket became a treasured item to all airmen, and was worn with as much pride as their wings. During their service, crews often added and removed squadron patches, rank marks, mission markings and occasionally painted artwork depicting the type of aircraft they flew, or the Nose Art painted on their aircraft.
